All vehicles driving are required by the local traffic laws and regulations to have a minimum of third party insurance cover for use on Bahrain's roads.

To transfer the ownership of a vehicle both the seller and the buyer of the vehicle should be present at the vehicle licensing (registration) division located at the Directorate Traffic with the following documents:
Once the vehicle is registered, the vehicle registration certificate is issued (which must be displayed on the right hand side of the front windscreen of the vehicle), the new ownership and inspection certificate is issued, in addition to that the owner is issued with a receipt which may be taken to the approved number plate's manufacturer to collect the vehicle's new number plates if the number was changed.
The registration of the vehicle (licensing) should be renewed before the date of the expiry of registration. And that can be done by either visiting the nearest Post office in your area, or by visiting the vehicles licensing division at the General Directorate of traffic after passing the vehicle inspection.

After the vehicle is registered, the vehicle registration certificate is issued which must be displayed on the right hand side of the front windscreen of the vehicle.
Failure to comply with the above conditions will mean that the vehicle will fail the inspection.
If you wish to export your vehicle for any reason; the application may be submitted to issue the necessary certificate and export number plates at the vehicle licensing division and should provide the following:
In the unfortunate event that you are involved in a road traffic accident, whether with another vehicle or not, you will need to call the Traffic Police Department. They will send a Traffic Police Officer to assist you. You must not move the vehicle until the police arrive and advise you to do so. Failure to adhere to this may affect your insurance claim.
